I cleaned mine and checked that it was working using a 9V battery. Also check the throttle cable and activate it with your hand to ensure the action is smooth.Ĥ) Clean your ICV. This practically ruled out the possibility of a vacuum leak - but you should check for them anyway. If I'm heavy on the throttle, and then shift, it does NOT occur. The rev hang issue is when you shift (or just rev the motor), and the RPMs seem to "hang" or get stuck at a certain RPM for a while before it drops. This seems to affect more than just my M52 motor, as indicated by all the search results. I'm not sure if it was there before when the car was auto since it would never really be in neutral, but once I switched it to a manual, it was incredibly annoying. I've been frustrated with the rev hang that plagues this car ever since my auto > manual swap.
